Q. We are looking for the list of British Home Children that we were told is on your site - they were in the Gibbs Home

Answer

Thanks for your question.

The library's collection does have a few sources that cover the Home Children.  Of note, the 1992 book Waifs and Strays (Guy Breton) does devote specific attention to the Gibbs home.  I do not have that source in front of me right now (it resides in our branch library) and so I cannot -- at the moment -- verify if it includes lists of the Gibbs home children. That being said, if in fact, you are after actual lists of names, you may fare better through the archives..... which .. may be the resource you are actually referring to...

Although there is an archival collection regarding Home Children on our site, these records are actually in the care of the Eastern Townships Resource Centre archives. Please contact their archivist, Ms. Jody Robinson, for more information about what the collection actually contains and hopefully it has the answers you are looking for.  Jody can be reached at etrc2@ubishops.ca. or by phone at 819-822-9600 ext 2261.

You might also want to Visit http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/immigration/immigration-records/home-children-1869-1930/Pages/home-children.aspx.  The national archives have many resources that might be of interest...including a dtabase that scours immigration passenger lists.
