Where would I find academic policies on how much one evaluation can be worth in one course at Bishops? Perhaps this information would be found in a similar manner for other universities? I presumed that a policy document like that not only exists but would be transparent as well.
I cannot find anywhere a listing of academic policies that stipulates if a course can have one evaluation worth 55% of a course mark and then a couple of others broken down from the 45% that is left. I recall a course whereby the course was 50% and 50%, so only two examinations but I didn't think there could be an evaluation worth more than 50%. As a student studying in Education in a variety of areas using Bloom's taxonomy as a foundation; assessment is a very curious item. Thank you.

Answer

Yes you may have portions of your course work evaluation worth more than 50%.  The actual marking/evaluation break down is presented in the course syllabus, and varies from course to course.
